Participation in Operas and Concerts

In recent years the choir has appeared at major music festivals (including the Salzburg Festspiele, Vienna Festwochen, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence), and it works regularly with top orchestras (such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra ...) and conductors (including Franz Welser-Möst, René Jacobs, Ingo Metzmacher and others).

…absolutely excellent: the three St. Florian Choir Boys who, in the tricky Fugato with Pamina, melted together with her vocally in the highest tonal homogeneity.
Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (on the “Three Boys” in Mozart’s Magic Flute at the Vienna Volksoper)

Aside from classic roles for Boys Choir soloists such as the “Three Boys” in Mozart’s Magic Flute, “Miles” in Britten’s “The Turn of the Screw” or “Oberto” in Händel’s “Alcina”, there are also many grand opera roles (Boheme, Boris Godunov, Tosca, Carmen, The Evangelist …) which can be sung by St. Florian Choir Boys.

The same is true regarding participation by soloists and choir boys in the concert hall. Whether it involves choir boys in Bach’s “St. Matthew Passion”, Britten’s “War Requiem”, Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” and “Mass”, Mahler’s 3rd and 8th symphonies, or many other works – the soloists and choir always take on these roles with great pleasure.
